That is all.

Pretty Girl
I know, I know, I have been a failure at this project, but hopefully some of the pictures I am going to be posting within the next couple of days will be enough to hold you guys over for a little while.

Dear Community

I feel it is time for me to step up and take responsibility for my actions (or lack thereof.) I know I went into this with your support. I know that I really had the intentions of making this a year long project. I really enjoy the whole process of taking pictures and editing them, but I have found that this "whole process" takes up a lot more of my time than I thought it would.

With that being said, please understand why I have not been posting lately. Also, I think you should know, if you hadn't figured it out already, that the pictures I have posted under the previous dates, are not actually from those days. Some of them may be, but most of them are not. I am going to try and be better about posting pictures daily. As of right now I will be returning my camera, but I have been considering other alternatives to funding this purchase. With that being said, I may be posting pictures from my iPhone and maybe my powershot ... if I find it.

Thanks for reading,
Cordially,

Boaty Boat
Dear Boat,
I hope you enjoy being on the water. Before you know it there will be no more water. There will only be ice. I hope you take care of yourself during your off-season. But until the time comes for you to be stored away, I hope you enjoy the freedom you can experience out on the water.

Betrothed
The picture is weeks old, but the love will last forever.

Also A Picture From The 6th
Zachary and a banana.

Not Quite Senior Picture
Tonight (also the 6th) Zachary decided to stop and sit on a rock. I liked this picture. So I am posting it.

Ring Around The Rosy
Tonight (which is actually the 6th) I took Zachary for a walk. When we got to this little cover in the road he decided to sing "ring around the rosy." It was funny. But I wouldn't let him fall down. He was okay with that.

Winner
This was taken for a birthday party. It was a picture scavenger hunt. This one had tough competition, but in the end it won out. We may have lost the war, but we won this battle ... so that is something nice.

Through The Window
Kevin took this. The end.

Late Night
This night I was messing around with long exposures and a dull flash light. I was trying to spell out "skull" but apparently I missed the shot.

That about covers the picture.

Same Box, Same Day
This picture was taken the same day as the previous picture. What can you do?

08*26*09

I'm In A Box
This picture is wicked old ... and by "wicked" I mean a few weeks. Also, it was taken by Carrie, so that is cool.

Car Accident
Sometimes life gets busy. Sometimes we get in car accidents. In case you haven't noticed, I haven't posted on this blog since my accident. Hopefully I'll get better at this. Also, I won't have the cannon anymore. That's a bummer.

Pants
I really love this pair of pants. I really love these socks too.

Today I thought about quitting my project. I won't ... yet, but that is something that did cross my mind. I think I am just really busy right now. I'll keep at it though.

Cultural

If you don't know a whole lot about my room, you should know this: there are several cultures represented. This is a picture of a Tibetan mirror that I own. I have a sombrero hanging less than a foot away. I have some Indian paper star lanterns. My keys sit on a Hawaiian tiki and most of my furniture is old school antique style. I'm still looking for more culture ... for now. What can I say?

Spinning Vortex of Death

Meet the Tornado. It appears to me to look more like a spider. I don't understand why some people find joy in things like this. This picture makes me sick. I wonder how the people on that ride feel.

Blurry
Tonight I wanted to take pictures at the fair. Unfortunately it costs money to get in. Instead I stood outside the gates and took pictures. Later I want to go and pay, but tonight was not the night.

Skull Church Shirt Win
Last night I took a few pictures of people wearing the new skull church merch.
Jennie got the best picture of the night, in my opinion.

Lakeside
Something caught my eye today. It was this boat. It started yelling at me, "Hey you! Yeah, you with the car! Come take a picture of me!" And who am I to turn down a boat? I took a few pictures and then thought, "I'm not on a boat. I'm not wearing flippy floppies."

Safety First

I read this tonight. It is an old Italian proverb. I'll let you analyze it.
"Since the house is on fire, let us warm ourselves."

Rainbow, Tree, Train
I know the title isn't very creative, but that's just kind of the way I roll sometimes. I'm listening to this song right now. Does it make sense with the picture? Not really, but it is the song I edited the picture to, so that is something... I think.

First Floor People- Barcelona
"First floor people
I’ll take my place among the throngs
Everyone reading books on how not to fall

Some may say, the world looks the same through red eyes
No way
Covered in dirt off the floor, I’m seeing straight

Don’t be scared if you know
Help me to explain myself

Who am I to fool now if you’re gone, you’re gone?
If I am found below the ground
I’m searching, desperate.

Prepared people, take your places on deck.
I’m a lost boy with no one to tell me I am safe

Overarching rules have told me not to think about,

Who am I to fool now if you’re gone, you’re gone?
If I am found below the ground
I’m searching, desperate.

This hole is deeper by the hour
My hands are bleeding I spin around
You’re nowhere
I’ll throw away my ugly plans
They’re too tired to push me anywhere but down

So who am I to fool now if you’re gone, you’re gone?
When I am found below the ground
I’m searching, I’m desperate"

Peace, Love and Cliche
I've kind of been slacking off when it comes to picture taking. I think I need to be more serious about this kind of stuff. It hasn't even been two weeks. I think I need inspiration... and to not wait until late at night to take pictures.

Rainy Friday
It's been raining a lot lately. I love the rain. Here in Montana, it very seldom rains- and that is a bummer. Tonight I went to Starbucks and enjoyed the lovely rain. I took a picture in the parking lot. Unfortunately, it's not really much about the rain, but more about the handicapped parking signs. I kind of like the symbolism in it all. It's gloomy, rainy, and sad, but the handicapped parking sign and pole is, in itself a bit handicapped. It's all crooked and what-not. Enjoy the rain.

Ella June
Although I didn't take this picture today, it is a pretty neat picture of Ella. Here is a little something-something about Ella: I used to sing to her in a raspy voice.
"Ella, Ella Bella,
You're the belle of the ball,
You make all the boys fall."

Graffiti Rock
I went to Woodland Park today and snapped a few pictures. After I got bored of looking at trees and ducks I moved on to bigger and better things like this rock. It's pretty sketchy, but it was really neat to look at. There were so many different things written on it ranging from John 3:16 to RIP and peace signs and Obama. It's really pretty neat.

Ransom
I have been tormented by gnomes lately. They just show up on my doorstep with no history. They don't tell a story. They don't have a clue. There are there for one reason and one reason only. They torment me. They stopped appearing for a while, but on saturday night Rupert appeared again. (I have named the gnome. It makes him less intimidating) I was given the idea to hold him for ransom. This is the ransom letter.

"Dear Mysterious Gnome Dropper,
I have played your games long enough!
I'm keeping your gnome for ransom!
It's not personal.
Give me your name or $20,ooo.
Do not deny me,
Guido"

I would also like to apologize for how poorly my last post was written. I seriously have no idea what was going through my head. It must have been late. Forgive the poor grammar. Thanks.

Bradshaw
I have named the cowman (yes, that's right, cowman) that I saw at Huckleberry Days Bradshaw. He was quite the character. He has quite the outfit and his beard wasn't too shabby either. I was way too nervous to ask if I could take pictures of him, so that is kind of why you can only see his back. It's a funny story really. He was sitting at this table so I just went up to it and sat down behind me. I think he noticed I had a camera and managed to make me feel pretty awkward by just looking at me for a good few minutes. Once Carrie came up to me I had her sit down so I could pretend to take pictures of her. Oh Bradshaw, if only we had met forty years back.

Night Light
Unfortunately today has been an incredibly busy day. I didn't really have much time to take a picture of anything too exciting, but hopefully that will change. Also, I think I'm going to start spending more time reading tutorials on how to edit pictures. Hopefully you won't find these posts too boring anymore.

Well, I made a pizza tonight. None of the pizza's pictured above belonged to me, but they did turn out lovely. Also, I am currently failing at photography. That is about it.

Lenya Avery
Today I got to watch some of the girls over in the corner. Carrie was over there for a little bit and had the brilliant idea to take pictures of Lenya by the brick wall. Some of you may know that Lenya loves me a lot. I'm just putting that out there.

Ghetto Couch

A haiku:
Seven dollars at thrift store
Three shampooed cleanings
Pretty gross, but lots of fun

The student ministries office got a new couch. It's pretty orange, and by pretty, I don't mean that it looks good. What I mean when I say "pretty orange" is that it is a very bold orange that screams out, "Hey look at me! I'm from the early 70's! I'm orange!" It's all good.

The News
This is day 1 of my project. I was really just trying to figure out how my camera worked when I took this. If I knew how to, I would definitely change some things about this picture like the iPod screen being bluish. Oh well, this is all a process I suppose.

The Challenge

This is where it all begins. This is where the challenge starts. Perhaps you have heard of such a challenge as this before. Maybe you have even attempted this kind of challenge. This is my 365 day photo-blog challenge. It has been completed by many and I find that inspiring. Hopefully I will not be a failure, but don't be surprised if I don't make it all the way through... or even close.

I first heard of this project from my older brother, who has yet to try it. I am being quite ambitious, seeing as how I just got my camera and don't really have any idea what I'm doing, nor do I really have the time. I hope to see an impressive improvement on my part over the next year... or weeks... or days... or however long I can manage to keep this up. I guess what I'm getting at is this: I just want to get better at taking pictures.

I hope you find inspiration in my pictures. I hope you find some kind of meaning in them. I'll leave off with this:

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. -Elliott Erwitt

(Also, Elliott Erwitt had a lot of double letters in his name... more than usual.)
